Sen. Sharon Brown, AGC’s 2018 Legislator of the Year
AGC’s Government Affairs Committee is pleased to announce that State Senator
Sharon Brown is AGC of Washington’s 2018 Legislator of the Year.
Senator Brown has been a friend of AGCW since she was first appointed in 2013 and has a lifetime AGC vote record of 98%. She is a champion of construction industry and is always willing to go above and beyond to help the industry. Brown prime-sponsored AGCW’s Mike M. Johnson legislation and was instrumental in helping the association’s career-awareness bill through the Senate Ways & Means Committee.
Senator Brown has been a vocal advocate for employers and the Senate’s leading voice for regulatory reform, working tirelessly to make it easier for entrepreneurs and small-business owners to grow, expand and hire more workers. Previously, she introduced the Senate version of a bill that increased the transparency and predictability in permitting which received broad bipartisan support (the House version passed and became law).
In 2019, Senator Brown will serve on the following committees: Higher Education & Workforce Development; Energy, Environment and Ways & Means (assistant ranking member for the operating budget).
AGCW has invited Senator Brown to the AGC Annual Convention luncheon on Feb. 1 to receive her award.
