Whatcom County Ballot Measure
Proposition 2015-024 would impose a sales and use tax of two tenths of one percent (20 cents for every $100) for constructing and operating jail facilities for inmates charged or convicted of misdemeanor and felony acts, and for other public safety purposes, as authorized by RCW 82.14.450. Half of this tax (10 cents for every $100) would expire upon repayment of bonds issued to finance the facilities, no later than thirty years after issuance.
CITY OF TACOMA BALLOT MEASURE
Propositions 3 & A: Prop 3 would increase the property tax levy rate by $.20 per $1,000 of assessed value for ten years (average household impact: $300) and increase utility gross-earnings tax an additional 1.5% on natural gas, electric and phone companies for ten years to fund street improvements. Prop A would create a Transportation Benefit District which would establish 1/10th of 1% sales tax for ten years to fund maintenance for residential and arterial streets, freight access and bike/pedestrian mobility.
