The State Legislature has passed the operating budget -- but not the capital budget, which funds a multitude of construction projects like schools, university buildings, public safety buildings, economic revitalization projects and more. The lack of a capital budget will mean that $4 billion worth of these vital projects (and the construction jobs they support) won't happen. The current special session ends on July 20.
