AGC’s Dave Kearby challenges for 15th District House seat
AGC’s own Dave Kearby is running for the State Legislature! Kearby announced his candidacy for State Representative from the 15th District last week.
“It all starts with listening”, said Kearby. “A good legislator listens first. Our district deserves an effective legislator who applies conservative values to our problems and works with others to find solutions.”
Mike Poppoff, owner of Poppoff, Inc., and member of AGC says, “Dave is a team builder and a problem solver. If elected, he will do a great job as our representative.”
Job creation tops the list of concerns for Kearby, who manages AGC’s Central District. “My priorities are jobs, public safety and education. Government should play a limited but important role in those areas. Our challenge is to make government work for the people we represent – that takes working with other legislators and representing our valley in a positive way,” Kearby explained.
Kearby’s role in community affairs includes being a Naches Valley school-board member, an active member of Rotary, two years as Chair of Transaction (Yakima County Transportation Partnership) and an appointment by the County Commissioners to the SEID Board (Supporting Economic and Income Diversity) working on economic-development projects from Sunnyside to Selah.
Community leaders are expressing early support for Kearby’s campaign. Senator Curtis King said, “Dave is a quality person. He has demonstrated the ability to work with people and get things accomplished.”
Kearby and his wife Sharon have been married 15 years and have one 13-year-old daughter attending Selah Middle School.
