AGC Retro celebrates award winners and whopping refund
See AGC Retro Top Performers here! Congratulations to them all!
In events held around the state AGC Retro members recently celebrated top refund performance and lower experience modification rates (EMRs) achieved through their shared commitment to safety and to accommodating injured workers with light duty.
“We are pleased to recognize our members for both their efforts in improving their experience modification rate (EMR) as well as for refund performance!” said Lauren Gubbe Director of AGC Retro. “It is particularly impressive to see more than half of our members earning premium refunds over 50 percent especially since 80 percent of them pay lower-than-average premium rates due to their concentrated efforts in safety and in light-duty accommodation to people injured on the job.”
Last month AGC Retro announced a whopping 42% group refund. In the top photo L&I’s Gary Van Cleef presents the ceremonial check for more than $41M to Matt Poppoff (Poppoff Inc.) and Isaac Miller (Pipkin Inc.) during the Retro awards event in Yakima. The combined refund was made even larger thanks to AGC Retro staff’s successful $97000 protest from a previous finalized year.
Among the Retro award winners (full list here) were the two newest members of the “Million-Dollar Club” -- those firms with a cumulative refund of more than a million dollars since qualifying for AGC Retro. The 2014 entrants in this impressive group are Diamond B Constructors and George A. Grant Inc. In addition the Top-three EMR award winners (with EMRs less than .60) were Dix Corporation MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions and Dawson Construction.
