AGC's Mandi Kime honored for safety leadership
AGC Safety Director Mandi Kime was given an award for outstanding safety leadership during a recent meeting of L&I’s Construction Advisory Committee.
“I am proud to say that Washington is a national leader in establishing the best of construction practices and that includes the construction-worker safety practices” said L&I Assistant Director Anne Soiza. “There have been many breakthroughs that started here with the partnership of the AGC of Washington construction labor and the DOSH (WISHA) working together. I am proud to say that injury rates hospitalization rates and worker fatality rates are declining. As a matter of fact Washington has the second-lowest construction fatality rate in the country in 2012! Additionally last year we went most of year without a single construction fatality in Washington. I cannot express clearly enough how remarkable that is. I believe that Mandi Kime other AGC safety and retro staff and the members and leadership of AGC of Washington have been integral to the success of our state. This award was in recognition of Mandi’s most recent work with Construction Safety Day and spreading the news about Junes national stand down for fall prevention a leading cause of workplace fatalities. AGC is lucky to have such a hardworking committed professional as part of your team.”
Mandi is a member of the Construction Advisory Committee which is a forum to collaboratively address worker safety and health matters that affect the construction industry.
Congratulations Mandi!
