National honors for AGC of Washington members
A number of AGC of Washington members received national recognition at the recent 2014 AGC of America convention in Las Vegas.
National 2014 Alliant Build America Awards were presented to Max J. Kuney of Spokane (Highway & Transportation category) for their work on the Skagit River Bridge Replacement project and Advanced American Construction of Sandy OR for their work on the Bull Run Dam 2 Tower Improvement project (Utility Infrastructure Renovation category).
Congratulations as well to these AGC of Washington members who were presented with 2014 Willis Construction-Safety Excellence awards:
- Granite Construction Company of Everett
- University Mechanical Contractors of Mukilteo
- Advanced American Construction Inc. of Portland
- Shimmick Construction Company of Oakland CA and
- Cobra Building Envelope Contractors of Auburn.
On top of that Granite Advanced American and University Mechanical were all national first-place winners in their respective categories.
“Its no surprise for University Mechanical to take a first-place trophy home from the latest AGC of America Construction Safety Excellence Awards said AGC of Washington safety director Mandi Kime. They have been members of AGC Safety Team since 2005 and contributed greatly to our monthly safety forums. Kirk Baisch their safety director serves on our AGC Safety Committee as well as several other industry safety groups and advisory committees. It is apparent in their statistics and culture that University Mechanical truly treats safety as a core value. I am thrilled that they earned the recognition they deserve on a national level with this award! Congrats!”
Kime also wants members to know that AGC safety staff welcome the opportunity to help members with their 2015 CSEA applications.
