McGowan, Workman Named to Foundation Posts
The AGC Education Foundation welcomes John McGowan Abbott Construction President as 
a new Board member and Rick Workman Senior Project Manager for Lease Crutcher Lewis Special Projects Division as a new Executive Committee member.
McGowan began his construction career with Strand Incorporated of Bellevue in 1981. He continued on to start his own estimating business in 1984 called Worley McGowan Company. This same year John started a construction publication named The Guide which he still publishes today. In 1988 John joined J.R. Abbott Construction Inc. as Chief Estimator then served as the Vice President of Operations prior to becom
ing President in 2001.
Workman is a 21-year construction professional with Lease Crutcher Lewis since 2004. He brings diverse field technical and management expertise and earned bachelor’s degrees from the University of Washington in both Building Construction and Design & Planning.
Both men are dedicated to the partnering of education and the construction industry.
