Contact Your Legislator: Keep SR 520 Project Moving
Urge your state Representatives to support ESSB 6392 the SR 520 corridor legislation as it passed the Senate.
Legislation approved in 2007 limited the use of bond proceeds only to the construction of the floating bridge and necessary landings. ESSB 6392 allows revenues from bonds to be used for any project within the SR 520 corridor including the bridge replacement landings HOV corridor to Redmond and other projects beyond just bridge replacement.
Approval of ESSB 6392 will allow all construction projects on the east side of Lake Washington to proceed and allow early construction starts while the final design of the west end connection is being negotiated and finalized. The legislation also reiterates that the total final project cost for the 520 corridor improvements will not exceed $4.5 billion.
