AI in the Built Environment: From Foundational Models to Field Robotics

Join us for coffee hour, breakfast, fantastic networking, and an engaging discussion on AI in the office and on the jobsite.

Artificial Intelligence has moved beyond the "hype" stage and into the era of practical application. Join the AGC for a high-impact session on how the industry is evolving to meet the digital era. We will explore the dual pillars of AI transformation: the foundational software systems that process project intelligence and the physical hardware that innovates on the jobsite.

Part 1: The Logic Engine — Foundational Models and General Applications
Graham Ralston (Specbook.ai) will demystify the technology behind the headlines. This segment will explore the current state of foundational AI models (LLMs and Multimodal AI) and their broad applications within the construction lifecycle. Graham will discuss how AI "understands" technical logic, the transition from simple text to visual document reasoning, and how general AI applications are being used to reclaim technical debt, automate document-heavy workflows, and improve risk management.

Part 2: The Physical Engine — Jobsite Innovation and Hardware
Graham Condit, Director, Emerging Technology for Skanska USA Building will lead a deep dive into the physical reality of AI in the field. From robotics and autonomous site monitoring to computer vision and IoT integration, learn how one of the world's leading GCs is deploying hardware-based AI solutions. This segment focuses on real-world applications that improve jobsite safety, track project progress in real-time, and bridge the gap between digital plans and physical construction.
