UW Innovation Spotlight: I-90 Bridge Digital Twin

How real-time data can transform the way we manage critical transportation infrastructure

Featured at the March Membership Breakfast, this presentation dives into how real-time sensing and digital twin technology could change how we operate and maintain complex infrastructure.

You’ll hear from Dr. Carrie Dossick and Bart Treece about the UW’s Digital Twin Project, where digital twin technology is being used to monitor one of the nation’s most complex bridges—the I-90 Homer Hadley Memorial Floating Bridge—in near real time.

Attendees will hear how emerging digital twin tools could reshape asset management, improve reliability, and unlock significant long-term cost savings for transportation agencies—starting with a proof-of-concept that may provide a blueprint for how we manage all transportation infrastructure in the future.

Join us to learn what’s possible when infrastructure, data, and decision-making come together!
