Unlocking Success with Early Controls Collaboration

How early collaboration with the controls contractor enhances outcomes for all stakeholders.

Building automation and controls systems—encompassing HVAC, lighting, and more—play a crucial role in modern construction projects, spanning a broad and diverse scope of work.

In this insightful program, we will explore how initiating collaboration with the controls contractor early in the project lifecycle can significantly improve outcomes, regardless of project size, while fostering successful long-term partnerships and ultimately saving all involved time and money.

By aligning the efforts of MEP design engineers, MEP contractors, controls contractors and general contractors from the outset, teams can establish trust, accountability and effective communication. This proactive approach ensures project teams are better equipped to navigate challenges and maintain alignment throughout the project, creating dynamic solutions even in the face of setbacks.

Join us as Galen Jackson, Harris Company, shares actionable insights on fostering collaboration that leads to efficient execution and sustainable partnerships in the building automation and controls space.
Jackson is an experienced building-automation specialist with eight years in the building automation industry and over fifteen years in the MEP field. He began his career at United Energy Engineers, a small building-automation contractor in Bellingham, where he started as an electrical apprentice and grew into a role as a controls estimator and project manager. Galen later joined the Harris Company, where he now leads the building automation team.
Originally from Whatcom County, he spent seven years in Alaska before returning to Bellingham eight years ago.
