Washington’s northern trading partner
-- PLUS the 2015 economic forecast featuring Neal Fried

A Seattle Chamber event -- AGC members are welcome to attend;
see registration info below.

Its been ten years since the last issue of the Ties That Bind report showing the economic linkages between Puget Sound and Alaska. Since then Alaska’s ties with the Pacific Northwest region have strengthened. With a reinvigorated Alaska fishing industry a significant increase in Seattle’s cruise ship volume oil and gas industry changes and other commercial and industrial activity with Puget Sound/Alaska linkages it is more important than ever to recognize the shared commerce investment and partnerships between the two regions.

For the first Alaska Business Forum of the year the Seattle Chamber is pleased to welcome Heather Haugland senior project manager with The McDowell Group who authored and will present an overview of this new study. The report will be shared with opinion leaders public officials and media in the Pacific Northwest and around the country. A special thanks to our contributing sponsors for their support.

Attendees will also hear from State of Alaska economist Neal Fried the go-to guy for those who want to get a read on Alaska’s economy. Fried is known for presentations that achieve the seemingly impossible: making economic data entertaining and understandable. He is one of the most sought-after analysts by public and private figures who want to know anything about Alaska’s economy and its labor issues. He will share his take on the study as well as his insights on where Alaska’s economy is headed.
